7 Quick Takes Friday - January 25, 2013

--- 1 ---

I can't attend the March for Life, but I'm there in spirit. Yesterday, I made a donation to Americans United for Life in honor of all the marchers.

Saw this on Facebook this morning:

WOW.

h/t Catholic Sistas, on Facebook
And yet the media ignores this. Unbelievable.

Please join me in praying for the unborn.

Lord God, I thank you today for the gift of my life,
And for the lives of all my brothers and sisters.
I know there is nothing that destroys more life than abortion,
Yet I rejoice that you have conquered death
by the Resurrection of Your Son.
I am ready to do my part in ending abortion.
Today I commit myself
Never to be silent,
Never to be passive,
Never to be forgetful of the unborn.
I commit myself to be active in the pro-life movement,
And never to stop defending life
Until all my brothers and sisters are protected,
And our nation once again becomes
A nation with liberty and justice
Not just for some, but for all,
Through Christ our Lord. Amen!

Please pray for a family I know. They are travelling to Russia on the 30th to fight for their son, even though Russia's adoption ban makes it extremely unlikely that they will be granted custody of him. They will no doubt have to tell the boy they love that they can't take him home. I can't even conceive of their heartbreak, or his. They have court on February 6 and I will post another prayer request on that day.

St. Michael the Archangel,
defend us in battle.
Be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the Devil.
May God rebuke him, we humbly pray,
and do thou,
O Prince of the heavenly hosts,
by the power of God,
thrust into hell Satan,
and all the evil spirits,
who prowl about the world
seeking the ruin of souls.
 Amen.

The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18).

  1. Today, I was so sad when the oldest daughter of one of my husband's sisters posted to facebook, "Happy Birthday Roe v. Wade 40 years"

I threw up in my mouth a little. and of course, since it's an in-law's kid and I don't like to rock the boat family-wise, I just ignored it. but this gal is vehemently against the death penalty as immoral...I don't understand why she's so FOR the death penalty for innocent babies. Ugh, I just have to stop thinking about it because I will cry here at work. ugh.
